I have been thinking a lot about the mission trip I went on in August. Although I am only a little over a month removed from my time in Nicaragua, it feels like years. The challenge since I have been home is to try and capture how close I felt to the Lord while in Nicaragua here in Pittsburgh. While on the trip, I expected the presence of the Lord, I asked for the Holy Spirit to move within me, I asked for guidance from God, and gave thanks constantly (like every second) to Jesus. Since returning from Nicaragua, the time I have spent worshiping, reading, speaking, and listening to God has decreased slowly each week. I am hoping to regain my discipline this week as my responsibilities ramp up. I was reminded of how powerful prayer is yesterday. I was tagged in a video from Nicaragua that shows God still performing miracles TODAY, right in front of our very own eyes-

As I am writing this, I can feel myself getting excited for this year (ministry season), I love partnering with the leaders of my Church. I am so thankful that God has put so many people in my life who love Jesus.
Kent, thank you for trusting me with your brainchild. I am humbled to be given an opportunity to watch God change the lives of men in our community. Dennis, you amaze me with the unconditional love you have for the high school students in our area. Scott, Darren, Amanda and all of the Family Matters team, the love you have for my children and all children is best exemplified in the love Brian and Brett have for you and what they have learned from you. For instance, Brian bought me a baseball glove for my birthday. A neighbor said to Brian, "A baseball glove is the best gift ever." Brian looked him directly in the eyes, and in front of 6 adults and countless children, rebuked his statement by saying, "No Mr --- Jesus is the best gift ever."
