I called my mom this evening, and opened with my usual question, "Hey Mom! What are you doing?" She replied, "I am crying." I developed a sudden pit in my stomach. My mother rarely cries. "Why are you crying, Mom?" I inquired. She replied, "In the 24 years that we have lived in this neighborhood, nothing like this has ever happened." She went on to explain that her new neighbor across the street snow-blowed her driveway for her. (The people on my parent's street barely talk, so they are definitely not shoveling or baking brownies for one another.) This was a huge blessing because my step father is out of town, we just got pounded with 24 inches of snow, my parents have a really, REALLY step driveway, and I am almost certain that my mother doesn't know how to use their snowblower. This was so great for me to hear considering (right before I called my Mom) I updated my facebook status: Incredibly full of hope. (God has so much to offer!) Hopefully, I will be sharing more soon!
This was just another example, which is so exciting and validating! We may not always be able to see or feel hope. However, I know that it is there. It is real. It comes from God.
