A Great Example

1 Timothy 4:12 says, Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.

My son Brian who is 4 has been a great example all day for me. Brian has been sick for about 24 hours. His fever has been as high as 103.8 and he has been extremely tired and lazy. Throughout the day, Brian has told Beth Ann and Brett countless times how much he loves them and how they are the best mommy and brother in the "WARLD." After I read him a story, he told me what a beautiful day it was today and to make sure I get a good nights rest.

When the boys get sick, I usually (always) get stressed and angry. I often run from God thinking I can control the situation. I run from people that have the ability to speak into me and set me straight. I need to learn that this world is not my home. I need to stop trying to hold on to certain "things" in my life. God has tried and even disciplined me enough times...Why don't I get it? Maybe the more discipline I get in my spiritual journey, the more control I will give to God.

Thank you Brian for being an example to me. Thank you for showing me how to love when times are difficult. Thank you for having faith in us and for allowing me to learn from you!
