Thank You

Mark has been in Nicaragua for about five days now. I wanted to thank all of you who are faithfully following his blog, praying with us and providing support and encouragement. We are so grateful for your notes, emails and texts.

Brian and Brett are a great source of support and encouragement, too. (I am so grateful for my two little reminders of Mark, as my big sister put it.) I read Mark's blog to them and their responses make me smile. For instance, when Mark shared that the team was making lunch for the children from the dump, Brian responded, "Daddy should make French toast for them because his French toast is awesome. But do they have syrup in Nicaragua?" That lent itself to a great conversation about the many blessings we have in America, including syrup!!! The conversation about why the little naked boy in the picture was only wearing "Nicaragua crocs" was a little trickier.

I would be dishonest if I said that I didn't miss Mark terribly. For those of you who are close friends with us and know about how our relationship operates, you are probably not surprised at all by the challenges his absence presents for me. However, God is faithful and I have been uplifted and encouraged by His promises.

Trust in him at all times, O people;
pour out your hearts to him,
for God is our refuge. ~Psalm 62:8

I wish that I had something more profound to share... for now, thank you God, thank you Mark and thanks to all of you for your continued prayers!

Love,
Beth Ann
