I am assuming that most of you read Beth Ann's last post. Everyone is fine. I think it is a perfectly normal response to a foreign county, their water and beans. We are making sure that the students are hydrated and well rested.
Today we returned from 22 hours of rest. Although we were swimming in the ocean, playing games in the pool and eating ice cream (not me), the group reflected on what God has been doing in each of them. I can make a case that the past 22 hours were the most important of the trip. We need to discern how we can take the closeness that we feel to the Lord back home and apply it to our lives. Why can we stop and pray for a man we don't know who is addicted to glue, but not take the time to pray for the kids we go to school with, play sports with and our own family members? Our team needs to go home and live differently than others who don't know the Lord. Our lives must not be the same as those who aren't Christians; We need to live our lives so others can see what happens through Christ.
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing. - Galatians 2:20-21
We have about 36 hours left. Please pray for us to finish what God brought us to do.
Mark
