Travel day today. We are going to three different spots around Managua. I believe Doug and Daniel want to give our team some time to experience the culture of Nicaragua. The first stop is the market. Stop two will include history of Nicaragua. We are going to the old capital of Nicaragua - Granada. Stop three is a surprise for the high school students.
I want to quickly tell a story. This happened last night before dinner. There is a girls home just down the street from where we are staying. Daniel has a great relationship with the people who run the home. Most of the girls in the home are from La Chureca. Two high school students from our team sponsor girls in this home. They send them money on a monthly basis, write them letters, send them pictures and most importantly...give them hope of a better life. If it were not for people like Jordyn and Brit, these two girls may not be learning about Jesus, would most likely be malnourished and living in La Chureca. I can't even explain what it was like when they embraced these girls for the first time. (I can tell you - Pastor Kent would not have been the only one crying.) I will include some pictures of the girls.
Time for breakfast - beans and eggs.
We can feel your prayers. Please pray for our protection and safety as we set out today.
Mark
